The petite all-electric Telo MT1 pickup has yet to reach the market, but the company claims it already surpasses the much larger and beefier Tesla Cybertruck in terms of towing capacity.
To be specific, Telo says the tiny truck proved capable of hauling trailers weighing up to 8,000 pounds (3,628 kilograms). In comparison, an entry-level Cybertruck can only manage 7,500 lbs (around 7,500 kg).
Coming in at under 4 meters (157 inches) long, the MT1 still manages to offer a four-door cab while tipping the scales at 1,995 kilos (4,399 lbs). In its base version expected to start from $41,520 in the United States, it relies on a single e-motor to propel it with 304 PS (300 hp / 224 kW). Once fully charged, it has 418 kilometers (260 miles) of range.
Paying a premium for the dual-motor AWD spec bumps the output to 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) and extends the range to 563 km (350 miles). This version is supposed to go on sale priced from $50,000 or so when production starts in late 2026.
It’s worth pointing out that one of the founders and primary investors of Telo is Marc Tarpenning, who helped establish the Tesla brand back in the day before severing connections with Elon Musk and his business.
