The 2027 Corvette Grand Sport will feature a new 6.7-liter engine, dubbed LS6. This engine is rated at 535 horsepower at 6100 rpm and 520 pound-feet of torque at 4600 rpm. These figures represent an increase of 40 horsepower and 50 pound-feet compared to the Stingray's 6.2-liter LT2 engine, with both peaks occurring at lower revs. The LS6 has a 13.0:1 compression ratio, which is the highest in a Corvette, up from the predecessor's 11.5:1. The engine retains a 6500-rpm redline, and the previous performance exhaust option is no longer available, meaning all LS6 engines will have the same output.
An active center-exit exhaust option is available, offering four volume modes: Stealth, Tour, Sport, and Track. The Grand Sport can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds with launch control. This is a tenth of a second faster than the quickest LT2-equipped Stingray and a similar amount slower than the 670-hp Z06. The Grand Sport completes the quarter-mile in 11.0 seconds at 123 mph. A hybrid all-wheel-drive Grand Sport X model, with 721 horsepower, can achieve 60 mph in 2.3 seconds.
The Grand Sport features laser-focused steering, brakes, and chassis electronics. It recorded 1.18 g’s on the skidpad and stopped from 70 mph in 144 feet. Standard magnetorheological adaptive dampers provide wheel control and bump compliance. The body is 3.6 inches wider than the Stingray’s, accommodating 20-inch front and 21-inch rear tires. A revised burnout function is also included. Optional packages include the Z52 Sport Performance package and the Z52 Track Performance package, which offer stiffer suspension, different tires, and upgraded brakes.
