Meet the Arcfox Alpha T7, yet another large SUV from China

BAIC Group has unveiled the latest entry in its Arcfox vehicle lineup: the Alpha T7, a full-size electrified crossover destined to reach the market in China before the end of the year.

Alternatively known as the αT7, the newcomer spans 5,020 mm long, 1,996 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall with 3,040 mm between the axles. It has a sporty exterior with sculpted hood and sides, a tailgate spoiler and modern LED headlights. A peek behind standard 21-inch wheels reveals yellow brake calipers.

The interior seats five and looks designed for China’s younger audiences. To that end, it houses a giant 17.3-inch multimedia display as standard and has an ultrawide display at the bottom of the windshield, spanning its entire width. The left side displays the gauges, while the right side doubles as a passenger-side infotainment screen. The tunnel accommodates two cup holders and a wireless charging pad.

In its hybrid guise, the Arcfox Alpha T7 relies on a single 272-PS (268-hp / 200-kW) electric motor for propulsion. A 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated engine produces 105 PS (104 hp / 77 kW) running exclusively as a power generator.

In turn, the EV uses a single motor capable of 309 PS (305 hp / 227 kW). BAIC has yet to reveal the drive type, but RWD seems the most likely based on the company’s other models.
