The Dodge Durango R/T 392, technically new for the 2026 model year, is a revival of the Durango SRT 392 previously available from 2018 to 2024. This version features a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine. Other components include Brembo performance brakes, a sport-tuned adaptive damping suspension, and an electronic limited-slip differential.
The Durango R/T 392 retains elements from its Street and Racing Technology (SRT) origins, with SRT badges appearing on the infotainment screen and instrument panel. It offers various drive modes, including Sport and Track, and a physical button for launch control. The vehicle can achieve 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and completes a quarter-mile in 13.2 seconds at 104 mph. The V-8 engine also provides a towing capacity of 8,700 pounds.
Despite its age, the Durango's platform allows for notable handling, particularly in Track mode where 70 percent of power is directed to the rear wheels. However, the steering can be artificially heavy, and the brakes are described as softer. Fuel economy for the 392 is rated at 13 mpg city and 19 mpg highway.
