The recently introduced Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4matic+ saloon has officially set a new Nürburgring lap time for mass-produced compacts, completing the run in 7 minutes 32.07 seconds.
The race took place on July 29th, but the details have only been revealed this week. The EV approached the start line equipped with AMG Ride Control suspension, the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package and Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires, but no aftermarket mods. Its dual e-motors kept the four wheels rotating with a combined 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW), accelerating it from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds flat.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-AMG has yet to open preorders for the new CLA 45, and says that actual deliveries will have to wait until early 2027.
