Smart has attended the Auto China show in Beijing this year with a prototype if its all-electric #2 microcar. The production version remains slated for the Paris Motor Show premiere this fall, but in the meantime, we can have a look at these interior sketches.
The first image reveals what looks like a curved, S-shaped front panel. Smart calls it “an innovative approach” to car layout, but refuses to go into detail. Another noteworthy feature comes in the form of a three-seat front bench. You can raise the middle portion to create two separate seats, but the default configuration is made for three occupants.
Smart’s smallest EV on the current lineup is slated for launch in late 2026. Billed as an ideological successor of the iconic Smart ForTwo, the #2 features a 35.7-kWh battery pack that lets it have up to 300 kilometers (186 miles) of WLTP range per charge. Recharging the battery from 10 to 80 percent full only takes around 20 minutes, the company claims.
