Suzuki Jimny pretends it’s a 54-year-old coupe

The small-yet-spunky Suzuki Jimny often ends up on the receiving end of wild styling projects. We’ve seen it cosplay the much larger Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Class numerous times. Beyond Japan decided to be different and gave it the front fascia of a half-a-century-old domestic classic.

The styling packages seen in the gallery above aim at making the Jimny look a little like the iconic Corolla Levin TE27, which was briefly produced in 1972–74, and its close sibling Sprinter Trueno TE27. The base package includes a fascia replacement with an integrated radiator grille and headlight surrounds – and that’s it. Customers may consider such extras as shortened bumpers for off-roading, skid plates and the like.

The ABS plastic version of the kit costs mere ¥73,700, which comes to $457 in USD. The glass-fiber variant is apparently even cheaper at ¥68,200 ($422). Painting the part to match your Jimny bumps up the price to ¥124,300 ($770). Unlike most Japanese domestic market companies, Beyond Japan seems to be true to its name in that it has global shipping.

Watch the two official videos above for a glimpse of the tuner’s other Jimny-based projects.
